Tehran : Iran has never said it would not talk over its peaceful nuclear activities, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Sunday.
The spokesman made the remarks commenting on Iran’s position to hold talks with Europe over its nuclear issue, speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, the last in the current Iranian year (to end on March 19).
“We are ready to hold talks with Europe about issues such as nuclear disarmament and economic cooperation with Europeans,” Hosseini stressed.
As for the possibility of Tehran’s talks with the Group 5 1 member states over Iran’s peaceful nuclear issue, the spokesman said talks held between the two sides had led to formulation of the Modality Plan and the plan has come to an end.
Hosseini added that the outstanding issues about Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities were resolved, citing February 22 report of IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei, and that Iranian nuclear program has turned to “routine” at the UN nuclear agency.
