Jalili, for his part, said that Iran and Europe have wide grounds for cooperation and oil contract between Iran and Switzerland is an appropriate pattern of such cooperation.

He added, “Iran has always supported dialogue for peace and security in the world,” adding, “Existence of a powerful and independent Iran will benefit peace and stability in the world, region and Europe and secure flow of energy.”
Secretary of Iran’s SNSC said, “The agreement on gas pipeline between Iran and Switzerland indicated that ties with Iran can be beneficial to Europe.”
Referring to the inappropriate behavior of certain powers toward Iran, Jalili said it happened because of wrong information and analysis concerning Iran and stressed, “If some countries had a correct understanding of the realities in Iran, they will never take the wrong way and damage their interests.”
The latest elections in Iran and report of International Atomic Energy Agency are two issues which show accusations of some powers against Iran are baseless, he said.

Jalili pointed out that a correct understanding of realities in Iran can be the best basis for creating sustainable ties between Iran and Europe.

Calmy-Rey, by referring to Iran’s important role in the region, expressed pleasure with the gas agreement between the two countries and added, “Iran and Europe have many grounds for common cooperation for which the implementation modalities should be provided.” She continued, “Switzerland intends to go beyond current gas cooperation with Iran in its bilateral ties.”
She also welcomed Iran-Europe cooperation in the fields of world disarmament, energy security and other international issues.
