Cairo : Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has said that all member states will attend the next Arab summit in Syria end of March.
However, representations may not all be at head of state level.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday after meeting Slovenian Foreign Minister Dr Dimitrij Rupel, whose country is currently chairing the European Union six-month-rotation presidency, Moussa said that not so much progress was made in the Mideast peace process, noting that Israel’s hard-headed policy in challenging the international community and persisting on building settlements puts decisions made at the Annapolis peace conference on the verge of collapsing.
As for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Moussa described it as being “intolerable” due to the humiliating siege that Palestinians were suffering from.
On that regard, Moussa urged the EU to adopt a more firm stance regarding Israel’s ongoing aggressive violations against innocent Gazans.
As for the political standoff in Lebanon, Moussa stated that the situation there was still the same, brushing away at the same time the possibility of further deterioration at this stage.
