Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Mumbai Police recovered the body of a teenaged boy from the terrace of the building where he lived Monday morning.
The boy, Aniket Patil, was found with his hands tied behind his back and his mouth was gagged.
The incident occurred in Akshay Apartments in Dahisar, northwestern suburb Mumbai. 18-year-old Aniket Patil left his home Sunday night, claiming he was staying at his friend’s house.
His body was found by one of his friends, who also lived in the same building.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, told IANS: “The boys in the building used to work out on the terrace of the building and one of the boys found Aniket’s body hanging from the top rung of the ladder of the water tank.”
Aniket was appearing as a private student for the HSC examinations. Aniket’s father Anil Patil was employed at the Bombay Port Trust.
The police have ruled out suicide as Aniket’s hands were tied with a nylon rope and his mouth gagged. The police have registered a case of murder and launched investigations.
