Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhom said in a press release issued here that the meeting aims to develop relations between the two sides to implement the “critical” security plans.

He added that the plans aim to chase the Palestinian resistance members and to disarm them to protect Israel as called to by the US and Israel, especially after the visits of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and US Vice-President Dick Cheney.

According to the release, Hamas warned of the dangerous outcomes of the continuing “conspiracy” of Fayad and his security authorities against the Palestinian resistance seeking self-interests.

Barhom demanded Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stop all “useless” negotiations and “dangerous” security cooperation with Israel and to release all political prisoners in Palestinian Authority jails.

He also demanded Abbas give the Palestinian resistance the chance to protect the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggression, and to provide a suitable atmosphere that enables a success of the Yemeni initiative to end the tension between Fatah and Hamas.
