Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel will brief the meeting on his recent visit to the region.

EU-Russia relations, developments in the Balkans, and intercultural dialogue are also on the agenda.

The EU Foreign Ministers’ informal meeting has taken place since 1974.

It is referred to as the Gymnich meeting. The name Gymnich comes from the German castle near Bonn, where the first ever meeting of this kind was held, during the German EU Presidency in 1974.
