Dubai : Dubai is all set to host the 6th City of Gold Conference April 12-13, with over 500 delegates from the jewellery sector worldwide expected to participate, WAM news agency reported.
The two-day annual event is being organised in collaboration with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre at hotel Park Hyatt here. Around 20 international speakers will also take part.
The current state of the industry, challenges of price rise, supply crunch and competition from the luxury industry will be discussed.
The conference will focus on training, education, certification processes and innovative retailing to maintain standards of services.
Tawfique Abdullah, chairman of Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, said the conference would discuss ways to boost the global jewellery industry, currently valued at around $146 billion.
The jewellery sector is the thire biggest contributor to the UAE’s economy.
