Bhopal : Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh here Sunday expressed concern over the pace of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) progress in some states, including Madhya Pradesh.
“Three states – including Madhya Pradesh and Bihar – are not doing well as far as the SSA is concerned, and I will myself review the situation in these states in the days to come,” said Singh.
Addressing a press conference here Sunday, Singh hoped that the Congress would get its act together in the interests of the state’s people.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the four-and-a-half years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule in Madhya Pradesh.
On price rise in the recent past, the HRD Minister said the finance minister would soon be taking necessary steps to control the rising prices.
Asked about the alleged horse-trading during the recent Rajya Sabha polls from Madhya Pradesh, Singh said: “If so, it was wrong and an inquiry should be conducted in the whole matter.”
