Further eight Kuwaiti candidates quit

Kuwait : Another eight candidates on Thursday withdrew from the coming election race due to be held on May 17, the Election Administration said.

Thus, the total number of hopefuls nosedived from 380 to 351, it added.

The Fourth Constituency witnessed withdrawals from Bader Eid, Thamer Saad and Motlaq Mohamed.

Sabah Abdullah and Abdullah Sharar quitted from the Fifth Constituency, while Yussef Abdel-Mohsen, Abdullah Motaeb, and Zain al-Abdeen withdrew from the First, Second and Third Constituencies respectively.

The administration has set May 9th as a final date for withdrawal from the May 17 parliamentary polls according to a recent election law amendment.
