The former Asian Tour No. 1 in 2003, Atwal was safely through for the final two rounds at one-under after 15 holes in second round when he found trouble and landed with a double bogey to go over par in the Nationwide Tour event.

He held on with pars on the last two holes, where he had dropped three shots the previous day, and made the cut on the line. His total of one-over 145 placed him tied 55th as 68 players made the cut Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

American Bryan DeCorso fired three-under 69 to open up a two-shot lead at seven-under 137 with over the Marco Dawson (68) and David Miller (70) duo at five-under 139.

Atwal, currently 18th on the Nationwide Money List and needing to stay in top-25 to make the main PGA Tour next, shot a 74 on first day and looked set for a solid second round as he birdied the second, fourth and 13th holes to go three-under before. The double bogey was a setback, but he hung in there ensure he stayed on in the tournament.
