Bhopal: Dr. Satyanarayana Dash, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Heavy Industry visited different manufacturing blocks of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit and inaugurated 15000 MVA transformer capacity augmentation scheme at Transformer Block. R. K. Singh, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal, General Managers, representatives of various trade unions and workers in large numbers were present on this occasion.
During the visit, Dr. Dash took keen interest in the state of art CNC Machines installed at Golden Jubilee Block and ongoing construction activities at the new Transformer Block. He also visited major manufacturing blocks besides Hydro Lab and UHV Lab and said that BHEL is capable enough to meet the ambitious power generation programme of the Government of India during the present and coming five year plans. Reviewing the ongoing expansion and capacity augmentation programme of BHEL, Bhopal, he said that the country is proud of Navratna Company BHEL which has played a crucial role in the development and growth of the country.
Later in a meeting held with General Managers and DRO’s, Singh informed Dr. Dash about the outstanding performance of the Unit during last fiscal year on all fronts and said that Daily Works Management System, modern Management systems and team work helped a lot not only to achieve the target, but set new benchmarks. A presentation on the present capacity, ongoing capacity augmentation schemes, order book position and delivery schedule was made to the HI Secretary.
Dr. Dash in his address to the senior executives appreciated efforts made by the Unit. He said that the people in the country have high expectations from BHEL and expressed hope that the dedicated and expert team of BHEL would definitely meet people’s expectations. ([email protected])
