New Delhi : India and the United States have held discussions and exchanged views on important bilateral, regional and global issues. “Indi’s External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice last evening,” an Indian External Affairs Ministry statement said here Saturday.
“This is a part of normal periodical telephone conversations between the two Foreign Ministers,” the statement said. The conversation was warm and cordial, the statement added.
“Mukherjee and Rice exchanged views on the important developments in our region as well as on global issues since they last met in March in Washington, ” according to the Foreign Ministry.
The Indian External Affairs Minister also extended an invitation to Secretary Rice to visit India to which she responded by agreeing to do so on a mutually agreed convenient date, the statement said.
