Moscow : Russia Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a congratulations message to the heads of government of the Commonwealth of Independent States on the occasion of the Victory Day over Fascism.
Putin congratulated his peers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Ukraine.
The letter notes the glorious actions of those fellow countrymen who bravely sacrificed against fascism for the prosperity of the peoples will remain in the memory of future generations.
Again, said Putin, we recall the heroic efforts that forged the victory in the front and rear guard. The Russian prime minister also urged to pass onto the new generations the valuable experience of unity, fraternity, and solidarity created during the fight against fascism.
Russian President Dmitri Medvedev also sent a congratulations message to his CIS counterparts on the occasion of the 63th anniversary of the Victory Day.
