By RIA Novosti,
Gaza : Egypt’s authorities have opened the border with the Gaza Strip for three days to allow Palestinians to cross into Egypt for medical treatment, an Egyptian security official said on Sunday.
The Rafah terminal, the only border crossing out of Gaza that bypasses Israel, has been closed since the militant group Hamas seized the Gaza Strip in June. Hamas has repeatedly demanded that the frontier with Egypt be opened to ease the economic blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
On Saturday, the first day the Rafah border crossing was opened, about 200 Palestinians in need of medical treatment crossed into Egypt.
