Astana : Representatives of the supreme courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states agreed to exchange their cooperation of judicial bodies in issues of illegal migration and natural resource usage.
In a two-day meeting here, the participants also agreed to exchange their corresponding legal declarations taken by the Supreme Courts, Kazakhstan’s Khavar Agency reported Wednesday.
Kazakhstan’s Supreme Court Chairman Kairat Mami said the meeting of the chairman of the supreme courts and SCO member states will be a consulting mechanism of the organisation.
“Moreover, as a result of the two-day council we passed very important documents for legal practice of all courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states,” Mami said.
At the end of the sitting, all the participants in the conference were awarded a medal for contribution to the development of international cooperation in the sphere of justice.
The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Bishkek in 2009 with the heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation to gather in Dushanbe over a three month period.
