Qatar’s success in solving Lebanese crisis achievement for GCC

Kuwait : Bahraini Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al- Khalifah said Qatar’s success in solving the Lebanese crisis constituted a great political achievement for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

In an interview published Sunday by the local daily newspapaer, “As-Seyassah,” Al Khalifad said Qatar succeeded in solving a thorny crisis that great countries had failed to resolve.

Qatar’s success was praised by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and all other Gulf states, he highlighted.

He said the the GCC made many achievements and its stands received acceptance regionally and internationally, adding that “almost all differences among the GCC leaderships were solved.” On the Iranian nuclear issue, Al Khalifa said Bahrain does not interfere in the internal issues of other countries, pointing out that Iran does not meddle in the internal affairs of the kingdom.

However, he emphasized that Bahrain is against any military attack on Iran and refuses any action that might undermine security in the whole region.
