Director of Red Cross’ Colombian unit for disaster relief Walter Cote told the news agency at least nine of the 14 deaths were due to landslides and house collapses.

The quake occurred at 2.21 p.m. Saturday, triggering at least 10 landslides that buried a large number of cars on the highway between Bogota and the central city of Villavicencio, capital of Meta province.

Police said that traffic on the Bogota-Villavicencio highway opened Monday.
