Cairo : The Executive Bureau of the Arab Justice Council agreed Tuesday on the formation of a committee for documenting genocides, and humanitarian and war crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
Bureau members, who met at the Arab League headquarters, agreed to form the six-member committee, presided by Palestinian Justice Minister Ali Khashana.
In a press release, the Palestinian minister said the proposed committee would be placing a work plan so that it may begin carrying out its tasks, but foresaw that its work would meet obstacles.
On his part, Saudi Justice Minister Abdullah Al-Sheikh said that the bureau discussed topics that would be discussed at the next ministerial meeting, including the mechanism for following up on the implementation of the Arab counter-terrorism agreement.
The meeting included a discussion of the draft agreement for combating money laundering, funding terrorism, boosting Arab-international counter-terrorism cooperation, as well as draft bills for monitoring and regulating organ transplants, preventing cloning for the purpose of breeding, counter-corruption, and revising the children’s rights guide.
Discussion of the Arab counter-corruption agreement and the draft agreement for combating trans-border crime was also completed.
