Islamabad : Gilani noted the current relations between the Saudi and Pakistani peoples in various fields and said there are thousands of Pakistanis involved in the renaissance and development of the Kingdom. He also drew attention to Saudi investments in various sectors in Pakistan.
Gilani appreciated the Saudi aid to Pakistan during the devastating earthquake disaster which struck northern Pakistan.
The Pakistani Prime Minister lauded the efforts of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Islamabad in strengthening ties and pushing forward the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On his part, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his country’s relations with Saudi Arabia are strong. “Moreover, these distinguished ties are based on the joint belief that stems from a common history and a common culture.”
He expressed optimism that these relations would move forward to further prosperity and progress under the new democratic government in Pakistan.
