Bhopal : Income tax raids were conducted at various places in Madhya Pradesh Friday targeting several top officials, including Home Secretary Rajesh Rajora.
About 40 teams of the income tax department involving 200 personnel fanned out across Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Neemuch.
Among those whose premises were raided were Muktesh Varshney, director of gas relief and managing director of the Madhya Pradesh Roads Transport Corp, as well as retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official U.K. Samal and builder turned newspaper owner Arun Sehlot.
“Raids are likely to continue for a day or two,” said an official.
