Islamabad : Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani strongly condemned the suicide attack in tribal region on Sunday, which killed at least eight security men.
The president also reiterated his resolve to continue the fight against extremists and terrorists and to make Pakistan a safe place.
The blast occurred near a check post in Jandola, a town of South Waziristan tribal agency on the Afghan border.
Sources said the powerful blast was heard far and wide. No details of the incident were immediately available.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
South Waziristan tribal agency is a stronghold of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud.
