Advani’s colleague Sudheendra Kulkarni told IANS that the website, lkadvani.in, would be “the most comprehensive website of any political leader in the country”.

“The website has as many as 700 pages and 350 images, besides being interactive,” said Kulkarni, who has put together the site.

Advani would mostly spend the day at home with his family.

“He will be home. There are no celebrations planned, but the whole family gets together for dinner,” Advani’s daughter Pratibha told IANS.

Party leaders close to Advani said he was a simple man and did not encourage celebrations. Respecting his privacy, the party has not planned any celebration.

“There will be no celebrations from the party. Advani does not encourage such things. We will go to wish him but he generally likes to be with the family on his birthday,” BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

Advani was born Nov 8, 1927 in Karachi, now in Pakistan. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh in 1942. He joined the Bharatiya Jan Sangh in 1951.

He became home minister in 1998 and deputy prime minister in 1999. The BJP has projected him as the prime minister in waiting.
