“Two days before the election day, all the people on election duty will cast their democratic rights through postal ballots,” Satbir Silas Bedi, chief electoral officer of Delhi, said Monday.

This is the first time that these people will cast their vote.

“Earlier, we used to give them an election duty certificate but this time they will cast their ballots. After the completion of their training Nov 27, all of them will be provided with paper ballots,” Bedi told IANS.

Several returning officers will be in charge of it.

“All postal ballots, including those collected from police personnel, armed forces, and now people on election duty, shall be counted first before the votes registered in electronic voting machines.

With 10.7 million eligible voters, Delhi will elect a new 70-member legislature Nov 29.
