The Post daily highlights that Zardari, who leaves today for the US to attend a conference of several religious beliefs, hopes US President elect Barack Obama assumes a new vision on Pakistan.

The president expects in particular that Islamabad’s demands for an end of missile attacks against alleged hideouts of Al Qaeda members in the tribal Pakistani zone near Afghanistan are met.

“Those attacks interfere in our sovereignty and are not appreciated by the people. The priority in this war is to win the heart and mind of the people,” Zardari stated.

The US occupying forces in Afghanistan have launched at least 18 missile attacks since August.
