Thiruvananthapuram : The Goethe-Zentrum, known as Max Mueller Bhavan in India, will launch its first centre here Friday.
Kerala Governor R.S. Gavai will inaugurate the Bhavan.
The Goethe-Zentrum is a world-wide organisation under the German Foreign Office with 144 institutes in 80 countries. It aims to promote German language, bilateral business relationships and cultural exchange opportunities between nations.
“Considering Kerala as one of the most important tourism and IT destinations in India with large number of German speaking tourists visiting the state, the Goethe Zentrum will significantly contribute to the growth of tourism, IT and hospitality industry here,” president of Goethe-Zentrum G. Vijayaraghavan told reporters Wednesday.
He is also the founding CEO of Technopark.
Eminent personalities who have studied in Germany will be honoured followed by an electrifying performance by one of the most famous German rock groups, NULLTARIF.
A painting competition for the school children and a Quiz Competition for the College students will be held Saturday.
