Ramallah : President Mahmoud Abbas has said that the Palestinian leadership will do its best to achieve Palestinian national unity because that is the will of the Palestinian people.
Speaking Wednesday at the laying of the foundation-stone of the Yasser Arafat Museum here, he said: “We will not give up on the Palestinian national dialogue despite all obstacles Hamas puts in the way.”
He affirmed that Egypt will pursue its efforts to assemble all Palestinian factions and to start a comprehensive national dialogue to end the division and bring back unity to the Palestinian people.
He said: “Our main goal is to unite our people in Gaza and the West Bank. We will do our best to reach this goal sought by the Palestinian people.”
“We lay the foundation-stone of the Yasser Arafat Museum to commemorate the late Palestinian president and to preserve his legacy so that he remains in the memory of all Palestinians,” he added.
Nasser Al-Qidwa, chairman of the Yasser Arafat Foundation said that this is a very important step in the way of preserving President Arafat’s legacy as part of the Palestinian heritage, kept in the memory of Palestinian generations.
