France ready to build nuclear plants with India

New Delhi, Nov 14, IRNA,France has said that it is ready to start commercial contracts with India to build nuclear plants in the country.

“India needs nuclear energy not only for capacity building for also to fight climate change”, All India Radio reported quoting French Ambassador to India, Jerome Bonnafont.

He also described the Indo-French Nuclear deal and India’s nuclear cooperation with other countries as a win-win-proposition.

He said, “IAEA and the NSG have created a special regime for India on Nuclear front, which is a historic achievement.”
Bonnafont said, “The idea of civil nuclear cooperation was mooted during the visit of the French President Jacques Chirac in 1998, which has come to fruition now.”
On the question of European Blue Card Visa, he said, “The Continent is discussing Common Immigration Policy to welcome immigrants.”
He said, “France wants more Indian Students in Higher Education and is ready to take more and more qualified manpower.”
The Ambassador however added that they will be tough on illegal immigrants.

The Blue Card, which is like the Green Card of America has been approved by the ambassadors of the European Union last month in Brussels.

It will be ratified by the Home Ministers of the EU at the end of November.

The Blue card makes it easier for workers to bring their families to Europe.
