Ranchi : The biggest ongoing trade expo India International Trade Fair has proved to be a profitable investment for its participating firms. Even the global economic crisis could not dampen the high spirits.
An Indian company Jharkhand Silk Textile Handicraft (Jharcraft), participating in the exposition underway at New Delhi, bagged an order worth $52,580 from a Japanese firm 100 Yen, which liked Jharcraft’s handloom products in the trade fair.
Now its products will hit the foreign markets soon.
“A Japanese retail company 100 Yen has placed orders for 50,000 handloom tablemats. They liked our designs and placed the order,” Jharcraft’s Managing Director Dhirendra Kumar told IANS.
He said 100 Yen will send its format and design “according to which we will prepare the tablemats”.
Jharcraft will charge Rs.100 for a two feet by two feet tablemat.
Kumar said Jharcraft will execute the order with help of the weavers of Khunti district. The company will supply raw material to these weavers who will prepare the tablemats.
