New Delhi: Noted poet of Urdu Dr. Kaleem Ajiz will be honoured by American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) by Mir Taqi Mir Award.
Modern Educational Social & Cultural Organization (MESCO) of Mumbai will get the Excellence in Education Award. MESCO was selected for its innovative work in the field of spreading education among the weaker sections of the society.
Dr. Kaleem Ajiz is a retired professor of Patna University and recipient of Padma Shri award. He is a poet of classical style of ghazals in Urdu. In 2007 famous Urdu critic Mr.Shamsur Rahman Farooqui was given this award.
Official announcement will be made in a day or two, according to an AFMI official.
The award will be given in its XVII Annual Convention to be held in Agra on December 27th, 2008.
