Middlesex cricket team defers India visit

London : The Middlesex cricket team from Britain has decided to defer its departure to India Thursday to participate in the Twenty20 Champions League following terror attacks on the country’s financial capital Mumbai, which left at least 101 dead and over 250 injured.

The English county side has postponed its trip by at least 24 hours before taking a final decision on flying out to India.

Middlesex captain Shaun Udal was quoted by the BBC as saying his side would not be flying on Thursday but could not confirm when their travel plans had been rescheduled for.

The team was due to play on the opening day of the Twenty20 Champions League Dec 3 at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium and were scheduled to stay at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, one of two luxury hotels attacked Wednesday night.
