Kabul : An Afghan woman employee of the UN has been killed in eastern Afghanistan, the UN said Sunday.
Belqis Mazloomyar was shot dead in front of elders at a meeting Nov 26 of the local shura (elders’ meeting) at Lower Sheikh Mesri, a temporary settlement for returnees, the statement said.
“The UN family, as well as human rights partners and NGOs in Afghanistan stand together in condemning her murder and in calling for a thorough investigation,” it said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing.
