$20 million Stanford match to go as scheduled

London : In a heartening news for England cricketers, the legal row between sponsors Digicel and West Indian Cricket Board (WICB) that threatened to cancel $20 million Stanford match has been resolved.

Sir Allen Stanford is believed to have struck a compromise deal with Denis O’Brien, the owner of Digicel, the telecommunications company and main sponsor of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), resolving the legal arguments that placed the match scheduled for Nov 1 in doubt, The Times reports.

Digicel won a high court case against the WICB Tuesday for their rights to the match as main sponsors of West Indies cricket in the Caribbean.
