Srinagar : Two guerrillas of the Jaish-e-Mohammed militant outfit in a shootout in north Kashmir Thursday, the police said.
The gun battle took place at Warpora village in Sopore, around 50 km from here, the police said.
A joint party of the police, 22 Rashtriya Rifles of army and 179 battalion of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force raided a militant hideout in the north Kashmir village during which “two militants belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed”, a police spokesman said.
The identity of the slain militants was being ascertained.
