Lucknow : A man wanted in over a dozen cases was killed here in a shoot-out with the police, barely 24 hours after he had shot dead a property dealer, the police said Sunday.
Jogeshwar was shot dead Saturday night in Kakori locality.
On Friday night, Jogeshwar, along with two other men, shot dead Devesh Yadav, a property dealer, on the Shaheed Path when he was returning home at around 9 p.m.
“A couple of years ago, Jogeshwar had murdered Devesh’s elder brother, Jevesh over a property dispute and Devesh was the key eye witness to the crime,” police spokesperson Ghulam Abbas told IANS.
A joint team of the Lucknow police and Crime Branch, after scanning the call records of Devesh, found that it was Jogeshwar who asked one of his friends to call him and ask him to come to the Shaheed Path.
According to police sources, an aide of Jogeshwar sustained bullet injures in the shoot-out but managed to escape.
