Guwahati : Two bombs were defused Sunday after police recovered them from a house in this main city of Assam, officials said.
A police spokesman said acting on specific inputs two low intensity crude bombs were recovered from a house that was let out to some rickshaw pullers.
“Two persons were arrested in this connection and investigations are on to find out their plans,” a police official said.
Experts from the bomb disposal squad later defused the bombs.
On Wednesday, eight people were injured in a low intensity blast in Guwahati near a Durga Puja pandal. “We are trying to find out if the two persons arrested had any links with Wednesday’s blast,” the official said.
