United Nations : UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the reestablishing of diplomatic ties between Lebanon and Syria, a historical action pending constructive common dialogue to benefit both countries, turning a new page in the relations between the two neighbor countries.
A statement from UN Secretary General reaffirms the determination of both parties to reinforce and consolidate sovereignty stability of each and the politic independence of the Lebanon, and to preserve privileged fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries in order to respond to the aspiration of both peoples, as established in Taif Accord and the resolutions issued by UN Security Council.
The statement disclosed by spokeswoman Michele Montas highlights Secretary General is ready to back these two nations to reach those goals.
