Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) has demanded a fair judicial inquiry into the Shaheen Bagh kidnapping case in which one ASI of Noida police was caught by the residents and handed over to the Jamia Nagar police.

Talking to TwoCircles.net Abdul Hameed Nomani, spokesperson, JUH, said everything is fabricated and part of deep conspiracy against Muslim community.

Shaheen Bagh kidnapping case was also an attempt to tarnish the image of Muslim on the name of terrorism. There is a conspiracy to push Muslims, who have slightly improved in the field of education and economy, again to the place where once dalits were, he said.

He lambasted the media for hiding all these events, which have consequently harmed its credibility. Why don’t this media flash the issue of Nanded, Tenkasi and Tripura (where Hindu extremists found involved in bombings), he asked.

If branding of Muslims as terrorist did not stop then the days are not far when we will witness civil war, he warned.

Asked if JUH will raise this issue in the ongoing Parliament session, he hesitated to give clear answer. He, however, said JUH leader and Member of Parliament Maulana Mahmood Madani, has always raised voice against terrorism and implication of Muslims in it.

Talking to TCN Dr Zafarul Islam Khan, president of All India Muslim Majlise Mashawarat and editor-in-chief of The Milli Gazette, sounded very angry with the media for its biased coverage of Jamia Nagar encounter and Shaheen Bagh kidnapping case. He said that now media has become completely a mouthpiece of police and administration forgetting its responsibility. It publishes whatever the police say without questioning.

“As far as journalism is concerned media should do its own probe in any case before coming on conclusion but this is no longer in fashion. It publishes only those reports which the police, administration and Hindu outfits want. Specially in Shaheen Bagh kidnapping case this issue should be raised on mass level by the media to put a sign of interrogation on the role of police in fake encounters and their attempts but very unfortunately it is not witnessed,” said Dr Khan to TCN.

When asked about the role of the government in recent encounter in Jamia Nagar, Kanpur and Tenkasi bomb blasts, communal riots in Dhule and Adilabad, communal violence in Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and in Assam in the name of ouster of Bangladeshis, he said that the government’s role is also suspected. He said that the government has failed to check on terrorism and violence in the country.

He demanded a high level probe by a Supreme Court or High Court judge into the suspected role of police in the encounter and Shaheen Bagh kidnapping case.

Dr. M. Manzoor Alam, general secretary of All India Milli Council (AIMC), says the police have violated the directives of the Supreme Court by what they did in Shaheen Bagh on October 16 and earlier Jamia Nagar encounter on September 19.

“The way Amir was dragged into the car by force without telling him the cause of arrest and making derogative remarks against him, was a complete violation of the Supreme Court order,” he said.

Today the police seem to have got a license to kill anyone without any reason in the name of terrorism, said he while reacting on this failed attempt to encounter an innocent youth.

It was just a conspiracy to shoot an innocent youth in the name of terrorism, he said adding that the manner of the police made residents doubtful about their purpose. He said: “Just consider if he was involved in many criminal cases, as told by the police, even then this was not the way to capture him. Why the police did not inform the local police about this raid? Why they used fake ID cards and private car without number plate, he questioned.

He said the police are offender in the case and demanded a fair enquiry into it and a judicial enquiry into the whole episode beginning from the Batla House encounter.

Maulana Mufti Mohammad Mukarram, Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid, has also demanded arrest of those who tried to kidnap a Muslim youth in Shaheen Bagh on October 16.

Anis Durrani of the minority cell of Congress said this event of kidnapping and the encounter in L-18 flat of Batla House area have put a question mark on the role of police and investigative agencies in the whole episode. It is most dangerous for the nation that educated Muslim youths are being targeted, he added.

Talking to Urdu Daily Inquilab, Member of Parliament, Md Salim (CPI-M) said that he has talked to MP s of Bahujan Samaj Party. They drew attention of Mayawati, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the party chief, to the kidnapping issue. She has reportedly assured them to conduct a fair and impartial enquiry into this matter and to take strong step against those officials who will be found guilty.
