New Delhi : A 32-year-old hardware engineer paid the price for intervening in a financial dispute as he was beaten up and hacked to death by eight assailants in west Delhi, police said Tuesday.
Anand was thrashed and attacked with sharp-edged weapons when he tried to intervene to pacify a scuffle that took place between two of his neighbours, Premwati and Paramjeet, over an old financial dispute near his house in Bindapur late Monday.
Anand, working with a contractor in Karol Bagh, died on way to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
The police said they had detained three people and searches were on to nab the other accused.
