According to the Vice Chief of the Commission of Science and Technology from the Legislature Nguyen Dang Vang, the plan for opening the first national facility of that type has a special meaning for the country, mainly because of its current shortage of electric energy.

According to official data this Indochina nation will need 294 billion kilowatts per hour in more than a decade and about 562 billion after 2030, since the national production will be 293 billion.

Preparation includes the building of two atomic-energetic plants in Ninh Thuan province with four reactors of 1,000 mega-kw each.

The generating unit will be inaugurated by 2020 to provide one percent of the National Electrical production, and could reach 25 percent by 2050.
