Amman : Jordan expressed concern over the attack by U.S. forces on a Syrian village, the official news agency Petra reported on Tuesday.
A government spokesperson said this attack constitutes a violation of Syrian sovereignty, expressing Jordan’s deep sorrow over the lives of innocent civilians that were claimed in the attack.
The spokesperson stressed the need to adhere to the principles of the international law, which emphasizes respect for the sovereignty of states over their territories.
Maintaining security and stability in the region requires not to take any steps that would increase tensions, added the spokesperson.
On Sunday, the official Syrian media reported that American helicopter-borne troops launched an assault in the afternoon on a building in a Syrian village along the border with Iraq, killing eight civilians.
