Pakistani PM Gilani embarks on 5-day visit to Turkey

Islamabad : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani left for Turkey on Monday on 5-day visit to attend the meeting of World Economic Forum and meet world leaders, economic experts and heads of international organizations, officials said.

This is Prime Minister Gilani’s first visit to Turkey after assuming the office in March.

Besides addressing the meeting of World Economic Forum in Istanbul, he will also meet the Turkish leadership during his visit from October 27 to 31, officials said.

The Prime Minister will also take the world community into confidence to make Pakistan investment friendly country so that the investors from throughout the world could come here to invest here and take advantage from the pro-investors climate.

Gilani will also visit Ankara on the invitation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for bilateral talks with Turkish leadership to promote friendly relations between the counties.

The Prime Minister will hold special meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Speaker of Turkish Parliament Koksal Toptan.

Turkey has been recently elected non-permanent member of Security Council and it has very close, strong, brotherly and friendly relations with Pakistan and the visit of Prime Minister Gilani to Turkey will further enhance and strengthened these relations, officials said.
