Beijing : At least 12 people were killed early Thursday when a lift crashed at a construction site in the eastern Chinese province of Fujian.
Rescuers were working at the scene.
Industrial accidents are frequent in China due to poor safety measures. On Tuesday, 11 workers were killed and 12 injured in a crane accident at a building site in southwest China.
Earlier this month, two workers died as a crane collapsed at a power plant in Shanghai.
