IOL Netcom to provide CDMA mobile services

New Delhi : Internet services provider IOL Netcom Monday said it has signed an agreement with the telecom operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) to provide CDMA mobile services.

“IOL Netcom announces it has entered into a CDMA franchisee agreement with MTNL as a lead consortium partner to provide CDMA mobile services in India’s two largest cities Mumbai and Delhi which have the highest tele-density and growth,” the company said in a statement said.

The company plans to introduce its ‘IOL mobile’ brand within 90 days, the statement added.

IOL Netcom Ltd is a commercial metro ethernet fibre network infrastructure company with a focus on broadband services such as Internet protocol television (IPTV) and video on demand.

The combined average revenue per user is expected to be over Rs.450 per month with a targeted base of over one million in the next few months, the statement said.

The initiation of IOL Netcom’s CDMA mobile services will now allow IOL Netcom to offer multiplay services comprising mobile, data card, desktop CDMA phone, IPTV, broadband and voice over internet protocol.
