New Delhi: Several Muslim religious leaders and institutions have supported the proposal of Ahmad Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid, to organize an all-party meeting of Muslim organizations to discuss indiscriminate arrest of Muslim youths in the garb of terrorism and bomb blasts.
Ahmad Bukhari had last week sent a one-page letter to prominent Muslim organizations and institutions. He had suggested a nationwide all-party meeting to form a consensus strategy to face the situation wherein innocent Muslim youths are being arrested in the name of war on terrorism.
Several Muslim religious leaders have supported the idea. They include rector of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Marghoobur Rahman, rector of Madrasa Mazahirul Uloom (wakf) Maulana Mohammad Saidi, and president of Tanzeem Ulama-e-Hind Maulana Ahmad Khizr, says a report in Rashtriya Sahara.
Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind leader and MP Maulana Mahmood Madani and Jamiat’s ex-president Maulana Arshad Madani have also taken positive approach to the proposal. They will decide on the idea after Ramazan.
