New Delhi : Home Minister Shivraj Patil is in a tight spot in the aftermath of the serial bomb blasts here as Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Monday refused to “contradict” the demand for his resignation.
“I won’t contradict the growing demand for Patil to step down,” Rashtriya Janata dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad told reporters.
After five bombings in the national capital Saturday evening claimed at least 23 lives, the opposition parties have demanded Patil’s resignation, accusing him of failure to combat terrorism effectively.
“I urge (United Progressive Alliance chairperson) Sonia Gandhi to call an all-party meeting on terror,” Lalu Prasad said.
