Amritsar : The Samjhauta Express peace train between India and Pakistan was Wednesday subjected to strict checking by security and customs authorities at the Attari railway station, 25 km from here, delaying it by nearly 24 hours.
The train was subjected to security checking following the recent serial blasts in New Delhi, police officials at Attari said.
Security officials checked each compartment of the train and also the personal belongings of each passenger. Nearly 400 passengers waited for the security drill to get over.
Twenty-four people were killed and nearly 100 injured in five terror bombings in New Delhi last Saturday.
