Talking to TwoCircles.net Dr Zafrul Islam Khan said: “I don’t have full information, so it is not possible for me to comment on what happened but from what I have gathered it more or less looked like a fake encounter.”
He further said: “I went there, I was part of a delegation of Muslim leaders that went there, we were not allowed to go up to the flat there. We talked to people who live in the locality and with information gathered through other sources it seems that what occurred was a fake encounter.”
He, however, made it cleare that “This is not final word from me but this is my impression uptil now.”
The team visited the area at 5:30 pm.
Ex-councilor Jamia Nagar, Asif Mohammad Khan talking to the media
Asked what would be the strategy of All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat, an umbrella organization for Muslim organizations in the country, to counter the anti-Muslim campaign, Dr Khan said: “Now we have formed a coordination committee of almost all big Muslim organizations which include Mushawarat, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind. We will formulate common strategy, not that of Mushawarat only.
“We are going to hold a press conference on Monday. On September 26 we are going to organize a dharna in front of the Parliament to press our demands,” he further said.
