Speaking at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting here Monday, El-Baradei said that Damascus must allow the agency’s inspectors more access into the country’s nuclear facilities.

Regarding the Libyan nuclear programme, El-Baradei affirmed that Tripoli allowed the IAEA to inspect the country’s programme freely, adding that the agency would continue to conduct investigation into the matter.

He touched on the Iranian nuclear programme, indicating that Iran did not prove that its programme was not linked to its military and weapons development programme.

El-Baradei called on states, accusing Iran of intentions to develop nuclear war-heads to fit on the (Shihab-3) rockets, submit copy of the evidence to Iran to provide Tehran with a chance to refute the allegations.

Iran must allow more inspections into its programme and it must give reason for the international community to trust its intentions, he added.
