Modi was warned of Ahmedabad blasts: Congress

“Based on the interrogation of SIMI leader Safdar Nagori, accused of masterminding the Jaipur blasts and arrested in March this year, we provided intelligence inputs of possible terror attacks in Ahmedabad in May to the Gujarat government. The report also included a list of 16 suspected terrorists. But the Modi government sat on the report and did not do anything,” Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari told reporters here.

“All the people arrested by the Gujarat police for the Ahmedabad blasts match the 16-member list provided by the central government a month before the attacks,” Tiwari said.

He added: “Had the Gujarat government acted in time, the blasts in Ahmedabad and Delhi could have been averted.”

While 56 people died in the attacks in Ahmedabad July 26, the serial bombings in Delhi Sep 13 claimed 24 lives.
