Azamgarh/Lucknow, India : A joint team of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh state Police on Tuesday conducted searches at Sanjarpur in Azamgarh district, the native place of slain alleged Delhi bombings’ mastermind Atif, and traced some bank accounts of suspects.
Some bank accounts were traced by the team which began searches in the wee hours, Additional Director-General (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh Police Brijlal told reporters here.
Asked about details, he refused to elaborate further, saying the team, which included Anti-Terrorist Squad personnel of the UP Police, was still there and investigations were on.
The posse of policemen from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh , who descended on Sanjarpur in the wee hours, also questioned Atif’s relatives to find out clues relating to serial blasts in the national capital.
The 22-member team of Delhi Police was accompanied by Shakib, who was arrested in connection with blasts in the national capital, the ADGP said.
